Window Manager customization is very flexible, you can attach a component, or replace it with other.

Here are bars that you can use for i3, XMonad, or DWM. XMonad itself comes with nothing but black intimidating screen. It can be customized very nicely with dzen2 bar. And it can have menu with dmenu_run or j4_dmenu. I haven’t got time try DWM yet.

Bar:

  1. xmonad + dzen2 + transset-df

    dzen2

  2. dmenu_run

    dmenu-run

  3. j4-dmenu-desktop

    j4-dmenu

Oh yes. You can set dzen transparency with transset-df.
